Tho ladies' hockey tournament was concluded . this .afternoon in beautiful weather, before a. large, attendance, and on a fast ground, when Southland {hold-' ers) defeated Poverty Bay in the final by 4 goals to 1. The -winners gave a fino exhibition of tho game, passing with judgment and attacking and defending equally well.
