RESIGN.

Mr. P. H. Blather, who has been Mayor of Eastbouvne for tho past four years, yesterday - tendered his resignation oE that ofßco owing to ill-health. Mr. Mather had a, breakdown in health early in the year, and was ordered a sea voyage. He went to England, and only returned to New Zealand Jast week. Councillor 0. Hartridge, who has also occupied a seat on the Eastbourne Borough Council for some years, has also tendered his resignation. It is slated that at least one other resignation is imminent, and there is a' possibility of others adopting the same course.
