, . SYDNEY, 20th August. At an inquest on Patrick Murphy, whose body was found on the bank of the River Cessnockj ■ Andrew Jones has been committed' for trial on a charge of murdering Murphy. I n - a statement, Jones said that Murphy, who was drunk, made an improper suggestion to him and: tried to d him % to "f bush A fight followed. He knocked Murphy down and left him lying on the grpund He came back, later and found him still-prone and bleeding He dragged him. to .the creek, intending to get water to -restore him to conscW ness.-but the body slipped into the creek Jones tned to get him out, but owing to the darkness failed, and he got frightened and went away.
