FIFTY YEARS A SAILOR
CAPTAIN BONE'S' RETIREMENT.
Fifty years of service in the employ of. the New' Zealand Shipping Company stand to the credit of Captain John Bone, marine superintendent for New Zealand, who was this afternoon the guest of honour at a largely-attended luncheon, held on board the R.M.S. Remuera. Captain 3. J.. Cameron, master of the vessel, was in the chair, and those present included His Excellency the Governor-General, Viscount Jellicoe of Scapa, the Prime Minister (the Right Hon. W. F. Massey), the Minister of Marine (Hon. G. J. Anderson), Sir Joseph Ward, the British Trade Commissioner (Mr.- N. E. Elmslie), the American Consul-General (Mr. Gonsaulus), the Agent-General" for Tasmania (Lieut.Colonel Snowden), Sir ■ Harold Beauchamp, the Dominion superintendent of the company (Mr. J. "i£. C.
