JAPANESE SHJP LOST HEAVY LOSS OF LIFE. (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPXRIOHT.) (IiEUTER'S TELEGRAM.) (Received 29th July, 10.30 a.m.) „ TOKIO, 28th July. Ihe North Japan Steam Ship Company s Tairei Maru is reported to have been lost off Capo Notoro on the evening of 27th July. It.is stated that 138 passengers and 54' of the crew ' were* drowned. Eighteen passengers and of the crew landed in lifeboats at Notoro village. The cause of the disaster is variously reported. The vessel either struck locks, or collided with another vessel. I
