LODGE MEETINGS

- The monthly meeting of the . Port Nicholson Encampment No. 6, 1.0.0. F., was held last week, Bro. J. Nind, acting O^P., presiding. After conducting formal business, including nominations of five v members of subordinate lodges for admission at next meeting, the evening was devoted t,o social' intercourse.

Cleveland Lodge No. 13, T.0.0.F.N.Z., held its fortnightly meeting at Brooklyn on Wednesday, Bro. A. G. Poster, N.G., presiding. One candidate was elected and initiated in regular form, and..two/ further candidates nominated.

Rose of Wellington Rebekah Lodge No. 38/1.0.0.F.N.Z., held its fortnightly 'meeting 011 Tuesday, Sister E. jMailey, N.G., presiding. After transacting formal business the lodge went into harmony, during -which a Dutch auction'was conducted in aid of the social fund, • with- -commendablo success. The' -fortnightly meeting of Zealandia Lodge, No. 48, 1.Q.0.F.NiZ., was held .at Newtown, oil .Thursday, Bro. A. Christie, N.G.. presiding. 'After completing essential business/including nomination' of two . candidates, the lodge entertained members of the- Order and friends with a social dance. Musical items were contributed by Bros. Evans, "Wallace, and Toomath. During the evening opportunity was taken to make the following presentations, the D.D.G.M. (Bro. H. Davies, P.G.) (jfficiating:—To Bro. D. Wallace, in recognition of social services, and his recent marriage, from Wildey-Lodge, No. 107, a'i Doulton bowl, and-' from Zealandia Lodge a-nd Victoria Rebekah Lodge, No. 2, a silver vase, biscuit barrel, and sugar'basin; to.Bro. J. Walker, P.G., A.B. Daukins, P.G., and J. F. Miller, P.G., framed Past -Grand's diplomas, in recognition of their services, while occupying successively the principal chairs. The fortnightly meeting of Lod"-e Melrose, No. 66; U.A.0.D., was held at Lyall Bay last week. Arch Druid Bro\ E. Wahlers' presided .over a large attendance o£ members and visitors: The evening's .work .was devoted, to the initiation of five candidates, and general business. Sick benefit moneys to the amount of £6 13s 4d. and -one death claim of £10 were passed for payment.
