The first International Advertising .Convention of Europe was opened by the Prince of Wales at the Palace of Industry at Wembley. The hall was decorated with the flags of the different countries. Mr. J. H. Thomas, Colonial Secretary, and the American Ambassador, Mr. Kellog, iwere present. The Prince had an enthusiastic reception. Viscount Burnham welcomed, the delegates. The Prince said that advertising aimed' at providing, throughput the world, a freer exchange of commodities t a.nd a lower cost o£ distribution, which resulted in the elimination of unemployment and a wave of reduction of prices. Mr. Kellog said he believed the interAllied Conference in London would solve the greatest economic problem that had confronted Europe for generations. Mr. J. H. Thomas welcomed the delegates on Behalf of the Government. Fifty delegates from and New Zealand are present.
