CRITICISMS ON BOWLING

PARKIN DISSATISFIED

WILL NOT TAKE PART IN FUTURE

TESTS,

(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPYRIGHT.)

(SIDNEY SUN CADLE.)

LONDON, 22nd June. The cricketer, 0. H. Parkin, in his weekly article in the newspaper "Dispatch," has caused' a sensation in cricket circles by his strong comments upon Gilligan's failure to use him the last morning of the South African Test match. He says that while Gilligan made many changes in the bowling ho was standing at mid-off wondering why he was overlooked, and how he had beentop of the bowling averages this season. He says that he never felt so humiliated in the whole of his cricket career, and adds : "I can take the rough with the smooth with anybody, but I will not stand being treated as I was on Tuesday. I should not be fair to myself if I accepted the invitation to play in further Test -matches, not that I expect to receive an invitation."

Gilligan declined the "Dispatch's" request to discuss the matter, ■ saying: "Parkin is entitled to his comments, and I to my opinion. That's all I am going to say."
