The quality, on the whole, was indifferent, not many well finished lambs were offered, the bulk of the entry con- I sisting of light and unfinished stuff. Extra prime lambs made 395, a few special 43s 9d; prime. 35s to 38s; madium, 31s to 345; light, 25s to 395, .Fat Sheep.—Twelve races were penned, the quality of which was scarcely ] up to last week's. Values were easier at the beginning of the sale, but soon improved, only to drop back again as the sale progressed. At the forWard end prices ■ picked up again, values finishing about on* a par with those of last sale. Extra prime wethers made 50s; prime, 40s to 455; medium,' 35s to 39s 6d; light, 30s to 34s 6d; extra prime ewes, 425; prime, 32s 6d to 35s 6d; medium, 28s to 325; light, 23s 6d to 27s 6d; aged and inferior, 18s to 235. Fat Cattle.—An overflow entry was forward, consisting of 560, as against <i2O last week. The quality was mixed and values of , plain sorts were about £1 to £1 10s below the rates for this class' last Wednesday. Prime quality beef sold at 30s to 32s 6d, with prime up to 34s per 1001b, medium 25s to 28s, light 20s to 245, and rough down to 10s. Extra prime steers realised £17 17s 6d; prime, £11 to £14; medium, £8 to £10 10s; light, £4 15s to £7 .TOs; extra prime heifers, £8 12s 6d; prime, £5 15s to £7 10s; ordinary, £3 15s to £5 10s; extra prime cows, £10 Ss; prime, £5 5s to £7 10s: medium, £4 to £5. • j ; Vealers.—An overflow entry of veal- j ors, but many were unfit fur butchers' : purposes.
