It was decided to Idvcr tise for two punts, and in the event of these not being available, to authorise tlv. foreman to build same. The fore! man was^ instructed in the meantime to cany out preliminary work in connection with the reclamation at the river estuary. Since 13th May a stone weir, 4 chains 8 feet long, had been erected at the back of Mason's Gardens, and aJso an extension of the stone groyne at Speedy s. The action of the chairman in allowing Mr. Kershaw to go to Marten- to give advice to the Rangitikei County Council was approved. The board agreed to grant permission t.-i the Borough Cwncil to lease the plot held by the council from the board as, a recreation ground. The board fixed the prices at which it will sell crushed metal to both local bodies and private individuals in the Hutt district. ' •
