INQUEST

The circumstances of the death of a married man named Robert M'lntyre, 38 years of age, who died at the Wellington Hospital early last Sunday morning, were investigated by the Coroner (Mr. W. G., Riddell, S.M.) to-day. According to the opinion of Dr. C. M. Hector, the cause of death was cerebral hemorrhage, due to either a blow or a fall from a height. Sergeant Joyce stated that deceased had been found on Saturday afternoon in the Basin Reserve. He was taken to the Mount Cook police station, and' was later, removed to the Hospital. In adjourning the inquest till Thursday morning in order that the police may make further inquiries as to how deceased came by his injuries, the Coroner remarked that there was not sufficient evidence to show deceased was intoxicated at the time of his arrest. He had had a severe fall, which made it appear that he was suffering from the effects of liquor.
