DUNEDIN EXHIBITION
CONSTRUCTION ABOUT TO COMMENCE.

DUNEDIN, This Day. A start was made yesterday with the erecting of the workshop on the Exhibition site. The railway siding connecting Logan Park with the main line is now completed. Artisans will start on the construction of No. 1 block immediately aiter the turning of, the first sod on the 28th inst. The contractors estimate that 150 men of'all gradings will be working on the building, fully half of the number ranking as unskilled. The front of No. 1 and No. 4 blocks is to be about 120 feet from and in line with Union street; No. 2 and No. 3 are planned to be at the real- of No. 1; No 5 and No. 6 will be at the back of No 4. These two lines of buildings are to be separated by a grand court 200 feet wide.. If No. 7 and No. 8 building are gone on with they will constitute the third lino on the western or city side The jig tramway, which is one of the Exhibition undertakings, is practically ready for work as soon as it can he profitably employed. Its immediate function is to bring clay from a hill to overlay the sports ground, and it will no doubt be useful for supplying clay that will be needed to mix with other material for the making of gardens.
