BIG PRIZE BALL
Everything points to the complete success of the-ball which is. to beheld ,m the, Town Hall on Saturday evening next by. the Citizen-SoJdiers1 Pageant Committee in aid of Gunner James Patrick, the nineteen-year-old- Territorial who lost his right hand as the result of the accident at the-.recent'Pageant ■at"fcewtown Park. The committee has spared no efforts in endeavouring to arrange a first-class evening's entertainment, and it is assured that those who attend will have no reason to ■ regret the investment of the modest half-crown which is being charged. Tickets are Teported to be selling very well, and a large, attendance is almost certain. The, dance^ programme should prove ■ sufficient to satisfy everybody, and the attendance of two-first-class orchestras- will be a big boon. A feature of the evening will be the ceremony of drawing the monster art union held in- connection. with the Pageant ..It is proposed to announce the result of the drawing from the stag^i' The first three prizes are quantities of alluvial gold valued at £350. £3<V and £20 respectively, and there1 are 25 prizes of JSl'each. .There, will also be prizes for the best fancy dresses worn at the, ball.
