WORKERS' UNION

ANNUAL CONFERENCE.

The eighth annual conference of the Aew Zealand Workers' Union, which was held last week, concluded on Saturday. The president, Mr. Arthur Cook (Wellington), presided, and two vicepresidents, Messrs. J. Townsend (Wanganui) and S. Boreham (Dunedin), were also in attendance. The following delegates representing industrial districts were present :—Messrs. G. Jeffreys (Otago), O. J. F. M'Kee (Canterbury), W. M'Lennan (Marlborough), R. Tutaki (Wellington), J. B. Williams (North Island construction workers). M. Gibbons (South Island construction workers), and C. Grayndler (general secretary). Mr. Grayndler, who had been" general secretary for nine years, tendered his resignation, owing to failing health. His resignation was received with regret. Mr. A.' Cook was elected to the position for the ensuing term. Mr. J. Townsend Wanganui, was elected president, rice Mr. A. Cook, elected secretary. The following comprise the officials now:—Mr. J. Townsend (Wanganui), president; Mr. S. Boreham (Dunedin), vice-presi-dent; Mr. A. Meighan (Christchurch), vice-president; Mr. A. J. Middlemiss, executive councillor, Marlbor-. ough; Mr. R. Tutaki, executive councillor, Wellington; Mr. J. B. Williams, North Island construction workers; Mr. A. Cook, general secretary.
