COLD NIGHT PROBABLE
I'lic barometer has risen everywhere over tho Dominion, aiid cold and changeable weather has been experienced generally, with.'squally conditions and heavy showers along the oast coast districts. Strong southerly winds have prevailed, but have moderated sinco last night. The depression in the vicinity. of the 'Chatham Islands, which has been responsible for the bad weather on the east coast, has disappeared to. the eastward. ; '
Anti-cyclonic conditions now prevail, and fair to cloudy weather generally is forecasted. A cold, night, with frosts in the South, -is probable, but milder "conditions are likely to follow shortly, the barometer falling everywhere near the depression which is apparently developing on the edge of the anti-cyclone in the Tasman Sea-. , Moderate to strong easterly winds, b'aeking' to north,' are to be expected north of Hokitik'a and Lyttelton,' and northerlies elsewhere. "'•'
