FIRE FATALITIES
OVER TWENTY GIRLS KILLED
AT SCHOOL BLAZE.

LOS ANGELES, 2nd June. Twenty-two are dead and eighteen suffering from minor burns as a result of a. fire Which destroyed the Hope Development School at Playa Del Key for subnormal girls. Twenty of the girls killed were in their teens or early twenties. Mrs. D. Thomas, the matron, sacrificed her life in a vain effort to lead the girls from the burning structure. Wilfrid Ringer, the son of an attendant, was also killed. ■
