FIRE IN A PICTURE THEATRE

MELBOURNE, This Day. ■ An audience was watching the screening- of a film at a picture theatre, -when flames were noticed shooting from the operating box. Cries of "l«'ire". wore raised, and a general stampede followed, in which several people were 'seriously injured, as a result of bein^--.crushed". The five was extinguished after Very little damage had been dune.
