CAMBRIDGE TERRACE CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH
There was a good : muster of members at the annual meeting .of the Cambridge Terrace Congregational Church. Allpreyious officers were re-elected, with the exception that,- Mr. ,A. Dougall retired from the diaconate, and Mr. T.L. Gocks takes his place. The report adopted by the meeting' recognises the year to have been full of difficulty: .yet-.realises that much good work has been accomplished by its pastor, the Key. W. Maurice Holland, 8.A., B.D;, while Mrs. Holland has ably seconded his efforts. "Mr. Holland," the report states, "never fails to give frankly and convincingly the trutli as comes to him." The membership roll stands at 131, five members havin"been removed by death during the yeaiv Many of the younger people from the bunclay School had become members, and the junior roll totalled 32. The Sunday School had lost the services of Mr. and Mrs. .W. E. Howe as primary department leaders. Mrs. Holland had taken up .this work. The most significant teature of the-, year, was- tlie' completion of church .premises, by: the addition of a.new suite of rooms. This was very largely due to the Ladies' Guild,' whose .labours had been fittingly recognised by the inclusion of-a ladies' parlour. Their sale_of work, held-in November, realised ila. Already the guild had given £500 towards extension. expenses, and their word was good for ■ the eventual payment of, the whole of the cost of the new wing. Special reference was. made to the efficiency of the choir,: under the leadership of Mr. T. Forsyth. In conclusion, the report strikes a note of conMence and hope for- future success under boa's guidance. • - * Tha 36th anniversary; celebrations are being held on, Sunday .next,' when- the .Bey. F. E. Harry will conduct the morning service, and the Rev: W M Hoi land 8.A., 8.D., will occupy 'the pulpit ■ m the evening. . . .
