The Empire Producers'/ Organisation passed a resolution 'it .-views' with 'apprehen '|f.i the Government's failure to ratify the Economic Conference resolutions, arid :regards~ with, dismay the Government's proposals to reduce the- duties on-certain products at present deceiving - and/with stabilising preferences' at, pre-Budget'money/value,l thereby checking enterprise in Empire developm6nt. It points out .that .the. Gov^, ernment's action will force the Dominions, in.search of markets to: enter .'into longterm commercial.treaties -with: foreign countries regardless .of : .Britain's interests, which 'action, the: Dominions have, long striven to 'avoid in an endeavour to institute a common: Empire economic policy. The. resolution emphasises' that the Government's: action-will/make it a difficult task m finding settlement opportunities for Britain's: surplus population.
