The Ostend con-espondent of "The Times" "says that, although the ■ Allies have not yet reached "an agreement in regard to the application of the experts' proposals, progress'has undoubtedly been ;. made' at the which M. Theunis and M. Hymans have had with M. Poincare and Mr. Mac Donald. They . seem to have done much to clear the air.- • ■..-.' . - ..".'" .-'.'. ' The Belgian. Ministers arrived at Ostend this afternoon from London. '■' M/ Theunis said: "We discussed the broad' line 3of the • reparation problem in the . light of the experts' plan, and the indispensable goodwill was evident. Mr. Mac Donald ■, was animated by an undeniable desire to reach an agreement. He does not conceal his sympathy with France. ,We return favourably impressed.'' • .-./ .'.'.-.■; Ml. Hymans was asked if an interallied conference may be looked for in the near future, and replied that it was a difficult question to answer. "There V will be.an inter-Allied conference at the 'moment there is a certainty of Allied agreement. Judging by the conversations I. have had, such a conference is nearer than many thought." Both ' Ministers declared that strict secrecy in regard' to what had transpired at Chequers was most essential in the interests of Allied unity. ■...'.- ■ ■ ,
