RUGBY

NEW ZEALAND SELECTORS

TWO MORE APPOINTMENTS.

A decision was made by the Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union, at. a special meeting; last evening, to increase'the number of selectors for the North and South Islands and for New Zealand teams. There are now to be three selectors in each Island, and with the representative of the New Zealand Rugb\ Union, they will makeup a committee of seven for, the selection of the New Zealand team. Previously five selectors were appointed; Messrs N. MTCenzie (Hr.wkes Bay), A. Wilbon (Wellington), A. J. Geddes (Southland), li. V. Carmine (Buller), and E. M'Kenzie (Wairarapa, representing the New Zealand Rugby Union), Messrs. H. E. Davis (Canterbury); and W. A. Guy (Taranaki), have now been added to that committee. . V Recently Mr. Geddes intimated that he would be unable to view all the matches which are being' played for the purpose of selecting the New Zealand team, and Mr. D. Stuart (Otago) was appointed to act in place of Mr. Geddes. Mr. Stuart has since notified the New Zealand Union that he would be unable to view three of the matches, andj as the Management Committee was not aware of another man in the South Island who could view all the matches, they have re-appointed , Mr. Geddes as a selector, and have added Mr. Davis to the Selection Committee. A corresponding increase was made to "the North Island Selection Committee. Mr. Geddes is able to view all but one of the special matches, and Mr. Davis all but two. The selection of the teams will now be in the hands of the following: North Island and' North Island Possibles and Probables: Messrs. N M'Kenzie, A. Wilson,- W. A. Guy, and E. M'Kenzie.
