It will not bo long now before the nuisance ' caused to broadcast listenersm and radio amateurs generally by the noisy interference of VLW will be grcatd , t! lmlnisne(l- At a meeting of tho Kadio Science League this week the guests included the Chief Telegraph Engineer (Mr. Shrimpton) and the Assist-' ant-Telegraph Engineer (Mr. Gibbs), and the latter announced that a valve transmitting attachment will be installed shortly. It will bo necessary for the sake of ships equipped with crystal receivers, and also to facilitate the culling up pf ships, to use "ICW" signals, which are, much broader in tuning than straight CW. This will mean that some interference will.still be experienced, but • it will not bo over so wide a band of wave-lengths.
