In the House of Commons, Mr. John Harris drew attention to the American Bill authorising the construction of eigH new cruisers, each of 10,000 tons, "lie suggested that the Government should approach the United States in regard to the possibility of another naval conference.
Mr. Ramsay Mac Donald, in reply, referred to a statement by President Coolidge on 22nd April, when the President said it appeared impracticable at present to attempt any further limitation cf armaments. He was glad to find] that President Coolidge agreed with the attitude the Labour Goversment had always taken up: that before discussing limitation of armaments we must first of all remove some of the difficulties in the political situation of Europe.'
