SYDNEY, This Day. The Lord Mayor slates that there will be a reduction of ono penny in the pound in the rates on the unimproved capital value of tho city during Che present year. ,The surplus in 1923 amounted to £111,000. The expenditure for the current year is estimated at £1,220,000, and the income at £1,201,000. The • Lord Mayor states that there will probably be a substantial saving in expenditure, juat as there was last year.
