Plans are being laid out and negotia- ■° nw-fv e m Pio^ess f°r the building' m Wilis street of a, combined theatre" eadaret, and restaurant oii: a scale very far in advance df anything of the kind so far erected in New Zealand. The scheme, .however, is; not yet quite finalised, certain important negotiations having still-to be carried through to conclusion. The plans us: now: drawn up provide for a,really magnificent building, which, , it- is proposed, - Vshall 1 bo styled the "Granada," at a "cost which will run well into six figures. : The Granada, as planned, will have a six or aevenrstory elevation to Willis street and will run the full depth of the block to Boulcott street. Shop fronts will occupy practically the .full length*of the ground floor frontage to Willis street, with the great main archway entrance \n the centre of tbe block. A special •icneme of illumination, in outline and , lettering lighting, and also in flood flighting, is proposed, and this Willis street frontage, as shown in the architect's pictorial elevation,' is particularly fine and .imposing.'; Interior plans include those for a theatre on the very latest lines, with a seating capacity of iioOO, a cabaret which will accommodate a thousand dancers, a restaurant, and office suites. Four electric lifts are •provided for, presumably in such positions as will serve, both the s .Willis street and Bou'eott- street entrances'. '
