BANKERS MUCH INTERESTED
..NEW YORK, 9th April. Expressing the conviction that the Dawes report would provide a working basis for a solution of Europe's problems, bankers and,business leaders praised the recommendations as a constructive step towards the stabilisation of ■ commerce and finance, and a valuable contribution to the peace measures. The suggested stabilisation of German currency has aroused great interest among bankers. As the provisions for the establishment of a central bank, and of an official rate of exchange and discount, and the adoption- of other currency control devices, bankers said, wore »teps revolutionary, ,as thg establish-
ment of the Federal reserve system of the' United States. . ' . The "Pittsburgh Gazette and Times" says: : "Tha experts suggest an international loan, recommending 5 per cent, bonds, but will this' return attract investors, when Ja,pan recently paid, in excess of 7 per cent, i" ' The "Milwaukee Sentinel" says : "The reparations, problem s has been clarified by business intelligence. The political fog haa been lifted, and a vast and intricate subject analysed in the clear light of gound economics and sane finance."'
