CHAMPIONSHIP WON BY CUMBERLAND.

(REUTERS TELEGK.UI.) LONDON, sth April, in the Rugby County championship nnal, Cumberland beat Kent by 14 points to 3.
The county championship was started ™ 18? 9' ™hen Yorkshire were declared the champions, and have since won the event on six other occasions. Devon Durham, and Gloucestershire have each five wins to their credit, Kent has secured the honour twice, and Lancashire, Northumberland, Cornwall, Midlands and Somerset have each held the charaP™'"P fol> one year. From 1915 to dJU the period of war years, there was no Rugby of senior standard, but since the Great War, Gloucestershire have had three wins m 1920, 1921, and 1922, while Somerset won last year.
