Harry has been unanimously elected president of the Wellington Ministers' Association, and the Rev. Dr. Pinfold' re-elected to the position of secretary and treasurer. ' Mr. A. G. Sainsbury, who has occupied the editorial chair of the "Ashburton Guardian" for the past 12-months, has returned to Auckland, and Mr. H. J. Constable has succeeded him. The chairman of the Board of Governors • of Canterbury College (Mr. H. D. Acland), Dr. J. Hight, and Mr. A. H. Tocker have been appointed to represent the-board at the Victoria College jubilee celebrations to be held in Wellingon during Easter. Mr. G. E. Archey, M.A., Curator of the Canterbury Museum, who has been appointed to a similar position at the Auckland Museum, was fare welled at a meeting of the Board of Governors of Canterbury College, when reference was made to the good work he had done in Christchurch. Dr. Alan E. Park, of Wellington, who has held the position of senior assistant medical officer at New End Hospital, Hampstead, for the past twelve months, is now devoting his time fully to postgraduate work at the London Hospital in preparation for the final examination for the F.R.C.S. degree. A desire of the Management Committee of ■ the Victoria University Rugby Football' Club to place on record appreciation of the ,work done by Mr. P. B. Brydeh in his capacity as secretary was supported, at the' annual' meeting of the club. Mr. Bryden. has resigned after having filled the secretarial position for two years. The new secretary is Mr. C. M'Kenzie. L. Reading, who has been editor-iri-ehief of the- "Lyttelton Times" for th"c pastNten years, and who is leaving for Australia, was met by the manager and staff of the paper mjk Monday, and presented with a handswne silver bridge set. Mr; A. G. Henderson, the manager, in making the presentation, spoke, of/the happy relations that, had always existed between Mr. Reading arid the staff, which would feel a distinct sense of personal loss at his departure. Mr. Reading had upheld the standard of his predecessors. Mr. Robert Bell, who is in hospital, conveyed to Mr. Reading a. message of the heartiest goodwill and friendship. . In reply, Mr. Reading said that his associations in the office had been very pleasant, and he had been very happy indeed. Mr. J: Bevin, who has just relinquished the position ■of district traffic manager, at Wellington, was made the recipient of a presentation on the eve of his retirement from the Railway Servico. A large number of railwaymen representative of the various branches of the service met Mr. Beviri, and several speakers eulogised his many good qualities and expressed their keen regret that he was leaving them. In responding, Mr. Bevin feelingly referred to the kindly thought that prompted the presentation, and on behalf of Mrs. Bevin and himself thanked them for the handsome presents. He was glad to see such a large number of members with whom he had been associated for so many years, and said that he had always received very cordial assistance and co-operation from all the members in the district. Mr. Bevin-said he would like to impress upon the younger members that from the •• time they entered the service they were building up their railway reputa"tions, and it behoved each and every one of them to endeavour to keep a clean record. ...
