A successful dance and social everting was held, by'the. Evans Bay Swimmiii? Uub on Monday evening in the Kilbirnie Hall. '. Prizes won during the season by members were presented by Mr. A. L. Mouteith, M.P., who was introduced by the club captain, Mr. C. A. Crisp-. Mr. Monteith complimented the club on its many successes, during the,past season, and. also offered his congratulations on the iacfc that through the persistent endeavours of its olKcers the club had finally secured the necessary permit to enable it to proceed with the building of the new clubhouse, ■ which the 6peaker felt sure would be a credit to the district. Mrs. Monteith also was present. Contributions to the proTamrqo were given by- Misses Burke and Woodward (classic dance), Miss Williams (monologue), Miss Nell Bosher (classic dance), Mr. S. Airth, and Mr. S. Anderson (recitations and monologues). ,'. The successful club members were: • Miss E. Wells, ladies' club championship and 50yds handicap (Mr. Osborne's gold medal); Miss J. Door, 50yds schoolgirls' handicap; Mrs. Bosher, dual relay; Miss N. Scott, ladies' competition, of three events (Mi-. Lavin's gold brooch); Miss M. Townsend, consolation prize for first lady to finish in open half-mile handicap; E. Patterson, club championship (Bosher Cup), and half-mile handicap (Mr Lewis's medal); J. Hill,. gold star for 1923 championship: W. Look, second place in luuyds open.'handicap; E. Solomon, men's competition of three events for Mr. Lavin's gold medal and novelty event; H. Gillespie, boys' competition for silver ( medal and second place in schoolboys event; A. Hepburn, second place in half-mile open handicap. •
