NEW METAL AIRCRAFT

BIG ENOUGH FOR ANYTHING

JULES VERNE COMING TRUE.

(DNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPYRIQHT.)

(AJiSTR.UIAX-NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.)

(Received 18th March, 10 a.m.)

LONDON, 17th March.

The "Daily Chronicle"' says that the dreams of Jules Verne are beginning to come true. Aeronautical experts now see a way to build in metal flying-ma-chines as big as may be required for the most ambitious military or commercial project. Metal structural parts have been made to a size'utterly impossible in wood construction.

Furthermore, aero engines have been constructed in England capable of devoloping 'over a thousand horse-power with weight brought so- low that it is possible to use them for aviation. Research is now seeking to discover the largest aeroplane it is possible to build successfully.
