STRAND THEATRE.
"The Printer's Devil," Wesley Barry's latest starring vehicle, is tlie chief at, traction on tlie new programme, which commenced at- the- Strand. Theatre this morning. It is the story of the heroic efforts of a lad employed in a country newspaper office to stave off disaster when the mortgage on the plant becomes due, and also to further his employer's love of romance. In doing this, he becomes involved in a lot of trouble, finds a rustic miss rushing him to death, and has to chase down a gang of burglars. The supporting feature, -'Mary Find the Gold," stars Betty Balfour, the famous English- comedienne. This is the story of a young girl- whose one ambition, in life is to provide for her father in his old' age. He suffers great privations rather than break tlie "nest egg," which he has saved for his daughter. The hard-hearted- employer,; .is touched by.this: self-sacrifice, and his interest promises better times for all concerned In addition, "High Life," a clever Mermaid comedy, and the latesb Pathe Gazette are being screened:
