ILL-TREATING HORSES
FINE OF £10 IMPOSED.
Charges of cruelly , ill-treating horses were preferred against Edward Rzepecky and William Sunnex before Mr. E. Page, S.M., .at the .Magistrate's Court this morning. Mr. J. Donovan, who conducted the prosecution, stated that on 17th January, Sunnex was engaged in driving a load of sand with three horses in harness. An examination of the horses was made by the inspector for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and it wa 6 found that two of the horses. were suffering from sores. The leading horse had a sore under the collar on each shoulder. JEtzepecky, the owner of the horses, admitted being aware of their condition, and said he had attempted to wash them down every evening. Rzepecky was fined £10 and costs, and Sunnex fined £2 and costs.
