A WESTERLY DISTURBANCE
Although warm weather continues locally there is a prespect of cooler conditions being experienced shortly. A westerly disturbance has held sway during the past twenty-four hours; arid gales are reperted in various places with rain en the Wept Coast of the South Island. This-morning's reports showed 65, points pf rain ij,t Westport, 73 points at' Greymouth, 124 points at Arthur's Pass. Twp points were recorded at Feston, but Wellingten was net treated to any meisture. The East Coast and nerthern districts ' are still experiencing dry, warm, and hazy, ccnditipns. Squally and changeable weather may be - expected, with* rain pn the West Ceast and in the southernmost districts, and there is a likelihoed pf rain fpllowing in mpst other places. Conditions' generally may be colder, though the Director of .the Meteorological Office does not anticipate that the change will be felt much, on the East Goast. Winds, strong to gale, from the west and backing to the south, ■ especially in the seuth of Copk Strait, are probable, and the change may ccme by to-morrow morning.-
