The "Daily Mail's" Paris correspondent says that the Court of Appeal has solemnly pronounced' the innocence of Louis Danval, condemned to death for .poisoning his wife with arsenic. The sentence was afterwards commuted to imprisonment for life. Medical experts at the trial testified that the arsenic found in the wife's body was sufficient to cause death. Its presence was unaccountable unless it was administered. The progress of science refutes the testimony, and shows .that the arsenic found was insufficient to cauEo ■ death, being merely the normal amount found in aiiv human body. The Court awarded Danval compensation of £250, plus an annual pension of JBISOT
