QUEEN'S THEATRE.
The Love Brand," Roy Stewart's latest starring vehicle for . Universal, which comes to-morrow to the Queen's Theatre, has its settings in a country of far horizons. Much of the play was filmed in South-Western California, where the atmosphere still presents the romance of the days' in the West before its glamour was tarnished by "too many people. It is essentially a play of exterior scenes and the' vast acreage of the famous Santa Margiierita ranchio, one of the last remaining: ranches of the old Spanish land grants in California, was utilised in the making of the production. The ranch contains ariproximately 260.0C0 acres, having within its boundaries mountains, plains, desert, rivers, and lakes, and extending from the Pacific shore 1 to the orange and lemon groves of. the south-eastern part of the State. Thousands of cattle and horses graze on the open plains, which offer virtually, all, the freedom of the unfenced > range of earlier days. The supporting films include "Strike Father, btrike Son." one of the short stories of the 'New Leather Pushers," by' H. G. Witwer, the famous sporting author, and originally published in the "Saturday Evening Post." Each story, is com, plete, and the whole series is unique, inasmuch as no such sporting novelty has ever been transferred to the silver sheet before. Reginald Denny, an actoratniete of great popularity, who will be remembered as the hero of "The Abysmal Brute," is' the star in this production. There will also be shown the very latest comedy ; from the Century studios, "Round Figures,"; starring. Jack Cooper, and the most recent Gazettes. A delightful /programme of incidental music will be proykled by the Queen's Grand Orchestra. 'The box plan is at The Bristol.
