DROUGHT PART BROKEN

SYDNEY, 24th .December.
The Government Meteorologist reports that the rain over the north-western districts partially breaks the drought. Over an inch was recorded in parts which previously had not seen rain forsix months.

A message from Brisbane states that steady rain for the pa6t threo days has been oxerienced in the cotton belt. Perth reports that West Australia has also benefited by heavy general rain.
