TENNIS TOURNAMENT AT EASTBOURNE

The East Harbour tennis tournament, which is being conducted under the auspices of the Wellington Lawn Tennis Association by the Muritai Tennis Club, m. conjunction with the Eastbourne Gala, promises to attain a large measure of success. The tournament opens on Boxing Day on the Municipal Courts at Eastbourne,, and in addition to the East Harbour : championship, handicap events are being contested, including ladies singles, men's doubles, combined doubles,, and men's .singles. A special feature of the tournament will bo a junior championship for boys under 18 years of age. The tournament, which is being held when some of the leading and more experienced players will be away at the New Zealand Championship, a t Christchurch, provides promising young players an opportunity for match practice during the holiday season. _ The programme of events and entry forms .may be obtained from club secretaries or Mr A.. J. M'Lennan, secretary of the Wellington Lawn Tennis Association,- Lambton quay. Entries for the tournament close to-morrow at 8 p.m. Late entries may be left'at the Jiastbourne lerry Office on Saturday evening. . J
