TOWN V. COUNTRY
Considerable interest' attaches to thj match, to be played at-tie-Basin Reserve to-morrow and on Saturday, be--tween teams chosen from'the Town andCountry ..teams in the. Wellington dis-:; tfict. Wellington has previously given country players an opportunity to play in Plunket Shield matches and other representative matches taking into consideration the form shown in country games, but for this season it was considered advisable that the pick of the § country players should be pitted against J> a city eleven. A strong selection of ■ 1 country players wag made, but -changes a have since been necessary m view of f the fact that several of the original I choice could not make the trip-to Wellington.. .However, Ihe country district* .can offer enough players to make up more than one eleven, and the team for; to-morrow's match should give -a good account of itself. Phy will commence at 11 o'clock, and the luncheon acW journment will be taken at 1 o'clocbJ Flay will resume, in the afternoon a» 2.15, and there will be an adjournment for afternoon tea 1 at 4 o'clock *| The secretary of the Wellington Cric- 1 ket', Asspciatioh. has been^advised by Manawatu that, in addition to X Hodder,- who was injured m the recent "Hawke Cup match, T A B Grant and/ A MtVicar will be unable to take their places in the country team Grant*" withdrawal is due to pressure of business, and is unfortunate, as he appeaii to have'struck good form with the bat.a havmg f made 130 last Saturdaj D C^ Collins has been- notified of the position, but no advice has yet been received fronr him as to the players who will be m-i eluded in the team m place-of Grant] and M'Vicar.as well as Lambert (Tars.;* naki), who. is also unable to play The teams will be ■as follow "1 Town: B.
