THE SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY
The entertainment arranged by Mrs. F. Rosenthal for the seafarers at the Sailors' Friend Society went very merrily from .start to finish, and gave much pleas-ure-to the many men who will spend Christmas at sea.. The performers were Mrs. Rosen thai, the Misses D. Weston Wood,C. Weston, Hodman, Sharpe Hill, Whyte, and Messrs. Luff,'' Raven, Remmer, Sundberg, Gordon, and Flack' Mrs. Remmer and Miss Hill were at \r 6 aUO' " Tips from the Press " was -All-. Moore's temperance subject. Pledges followed. Hospitality was arranged for by well-wishers of the work, and had a seasonable touch. Competition prizes were given by the hostess and friends and went to Port Dennison, Arawa ■■■■ Middlesex, and Karamea -■ I
