LONDON, 6th December
The "Morning Post's" Paris correspondent says that Daudot and his friends persist in the allegation that Philippe Daudet was done to death by their Anarchist enemies. It suggested thaj> the only alternative to the hypnotic suicide theory is, that Philippe was shot by an assassin through the cab window. It is believed that yesterday's mysterious witness was called in order to testify to one or other of these 'heories. When he entered and left the Law Court be was surrounded by a band of young Royalists, who screened bis identity and prevented photographs being taken. Tho police yesterday, when examining the cab, discovered lying in a crack between the floor boards an empty cartridge case corresponding in calibre to those used in the revolver found near Philippe's body. A story is now told of a stranger's arrival at the garage for iin inspection of the cab. It is suggested that he was an Anarchist, and placed the cartridge case in the cab. The mystery continues to absorb the Paris public. . ■
The "Daily Express" says a number of missing documents throwing light on the case were found sewn in the dress of tho sweetheart of Comrado Coloter, of the "Libertaire's" stuff. Sim, with the documents, dashed to Marseilles, and returned to Paris, whore the police awaited her and took the papers. : These included a manuscript of Philippe's prose poems, on which on the firit folio was written, "Good-bye to Mummy. None will discover the feeling that directs me."
