The zinc consolidation comprises the Swansea and Avonmouth zinc properties, with a preponderating interest in the Burma Corporation, under the aegis of the directors of Baldwins, Limited, the British Mesal Corporation, and prominent Australian mining and metal.liirgical interests. The amalgamation is the last step in the policy initiated by the British and Australian Governments to make tho Empire self-support-ing in zinc concentrates. The purchase price of the interests acquired is £2,300,----000. The directors of the National Smelting Company will include representatives, of Baldwins, the British Metal Corporation, and the Australian interests, making an exceptionally powerful board, both in personnel and financially. The company proposes shortly to issue £1,500,000 in 7 perv cent. debentures at
