MORE WORKERS WANTED
Again, at the meeting of the Civic League last evening the secretary (Mr. D. MLaren) emphasised the need for more workers for the canvass and collection of funds towards the £10 000 required. Those who were engaged in the canvass at present were busy men who gave all the time they could, but still could not do all that should be done He suggested that other ratepayers' associations should follow the lead of the Hataitai Association and institute vigorous campaigns .within their districts. Mr. G. A. Troup maintained that a personal canvass would bring in the best results, and following upon that remark Mr. D. J. M'Gowan suggested that each association should nominate one or two members to carry out such a canvass as an addition to the general district campaign.
