PETONE CHRISTMAS CARNIVAL
Preparations for the Petone Christmas Carnival were advanced a further stage at a meeting of the executive held last evening. The Bristol Piano Company notified its willingness to donate a trophy, and donations were received from Messrs. Oppenheimer and Co. and Smith and Sons, Furriers. It was decided to elect the donors vice-presidents of the society. Full arrangements for a treasure hunt on the beach on Boiins Day were made. The organiser was inu ♦! v ,f° aP ply for a Perniit for a Hutt Valley Amateur Athletic meetine on New Year's Day. The date of the boxing contest was fixed for New Year's Day, and arrangements for the tuc-of-war were made for the same date The organiser is to report on the possibility of putt™™ a maze : on-the foreshore, and to include m the programme, if possible, a cookery competition, and a car pentry competition for boys The cold of Now"/ I*™* .de^ oßited the Bank ot JNew Zealand in Petoue.
