LADDER PLAY AT THOENDON. Four important ladder matches were played on the Thorndon Olub courts, three singles and one doubles. The challengers were successful in two of the singles. D. France, who was placed 10th on the ladder, defeated N. R. Barkman, No. 6, 6-4, 6-0. L. Mayo, 14th on the ladder, played W. P. Hollings, 12th, and was defeated 6-2, 8-6, after a long and interesting game. R. R. Young, 16th on the ladder, was successful in his challenge of J. Edmonds, 15th, in two straight sets, which resulted 6-2, 9-7. •-.-.- ---• Wright and Pigon challenged L. and D.
