HICKSON'S HEALING MISSION SICK AND THE BLIND SHOW IMPROVEMENT. uvv. lr (>I TELEORAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) DUNEDIN, 26th November.. The Christian healing mission, to be conducted in the Anglican Cathedral on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of next week, by Mr. J. M. Hickson, has attracted such crowds of patients that the lists have had to be closed, and it seems inevitable that a' number of those desiring the ministrations of the missioner will" have to be shut out, as in other centres. Many cases are now being reported here of people who have benefited to a greater or lesser degree through their having taken part ni the preparations for the mission. One who v.-as suffering acutely from cancer is said to have been relieved from all suffering. Another patient afflicted with deafness and ulcers has now no ulcers, and finds his hearing much improved. A little girl who was prayed for at th 9 preparatory services and was thought to be dying of bronchitis and pneumania, is now reported to be quite out of danger.
The Rev. W. Hamblett, of St. Matthew a, announced on Sunday that a man who came to him practically stone blind with cataract, returned a week later with his sight so restored that he could walk easily without guidance. He could read the time on his watch, and could read large print. His hearing, which had been bad, had also been much improved. A young man who was suffering severely from epilepsy began attending the preparation services in August, and since then has not had any seizure. Under the advice of a chiropractor he had an X-ray photograph taken about that time, which revealed the fact that vertebrae were out of adjustment. A similar photo, taken a fortnight ago showed the position to be improved to ths extent of two-thirds.
Cases of improvement in sight and hearing and other benefits, received have been reported from Oamarii Nearly 250 people suffering from all manner of sickness, disease and disability are being prayed for regularly every day at the preparation services, which are being held, in various Anglican churches.
