ROBBER KILLS A POLICEMAN.

(Received 26th November, 9 a.m.) NEW YORK, 25th November. The police at Los Angeles have captured Edward Carleton, who was wanted for robberies at a number of rich homes in Hollywood. A week ago he married a charming wife, whom he compelled to accompany him on his raids. They were surprised while robbing a mansion. Carleton shot a policeman dead and leaped from an upstairs window and escaped, but the police secured evidence from his wife which led to his arrest. Another man named Descheneau has received a life sentence from a Los Angeles Court on charges of robbery His specialty was to enclose himself in a trunk and get himself carried into the banks and other places which he desired to rob. .
