Mr. Bruce and Mr. Massey agree on the value of the Earl of Cavan's visit to Australasia. They think it highly desirable that the Chief of the Imperial General Staff should have the opportunity oi seeing these outposts of the Empire go as to be able to gain firsthand intormation, which would be useful in the matter of Imperial defence although in accepting the invitation the Larl of Cavan holds no mission to report on antipodean defences.
