ARRANGEMENTS FOR SUMMER

CARNIVAL,

The Summer Carnival will be held from the 19th to the 26th January, inclusive, starting with a. trades and entertainment procession from th« Post Office Square at 6.30 p.m. on Saturday, the 19th, and march to Newtown Park. At the Park which will be illuminated,"a full evening's programme of games, entertainments, and side shows of all sorts will be carried out. On Sunday bands will play*' on Itfall Bay beach, where the. Wellington. Life Saving Club will give performances. Monday will be shopping day, and the shops display competition will begin. The evening entertainments in Newtown Park will continue.

Tuesday (Anniversary Day): The regatta will start. Races will be held it irentham, and Early Settlers' Sports will be held, and the evening entertainment* will be continued at the Park.' Wednesday will see the first of the banders Cup races. The':''judging of shop windows will take place.
