PONY RACING INQUIRY
ALLEGATIONS OF "GRAFT;":
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPtBIOHT.)
(Received 22rid November, 9 a.m.)
SYDNEY, This Day.
At the pony racing inquiry, an extrainer alleged that pony racing had been controlled for years by three men. If a man had a good horse with prospects of winning, and did not give the information to these men, he was hound r ed and harassed wherever he went. The witness gave alleged cases to support this statement. He also alleged that jockeys were bribed to "pull" their horses. He declared that the appeal board was a joke, and that certain stewards—but not the present stewards— were prejudiced and open- to influence from those who controlled the Associated Racing Club.
