* Mr. H. Ernest Leighton reports that at the sale held in the Chamber of Commerce yesterday there was a good attendance and a keen inquiry for the properties offered on behalf of the Lower fiutt Borough Council. Lot 5, occupied by Meyrick's baker's shop, was sold under the hammer for £1750. Lot 1, being the vacant section adjoining Hannah's boot shop, was sold for £700. The Arcade Buildings and the vacant section adjoining, not reaching the reserve, were' passed in. The bidding for the Moxham avenue property, which started at £1250, not reaching the reserve, was also passed in. These properties are now in the auctioneer's hands solely for private Bale.
